YSK that Project Gutenberg has an online library of over 60,000 free eBooks

Why YSK: In these times getting your hands on things to read can be hard – especially if your local library doesn't have freely available web resources.
Project Gutenberg has a massive library of eBooks as well as audio books you can download to your device, or read directly in your browser. Its collection includes works that are not currently protected by copyright in the United States, most commonly classics with expired rights, like Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

You can get a Wake County library card instantly online and start reading ebooks right away for freeeeee!

I just moved here from Chapel Hill, so forgive me if this is common knowledge, but I figured this might help others out!
You can register for a Wake County library card here. You set your own pin, so just copy down the library card number it gives you and your pin. You can then use that library card number immediately on the Wake County Overdrive website to browse, download, and read ebooks for free. I'm actually really surprised that so many new books are available without a long queue/hold process.
It does say that the numbers are only valid while the libraries remain closed (and then you have to go in with your license/proof of address to get a physical card).
I've been bored out of my mind lately and I'm so excited to suddenly have this vast collection of books to read...for free!

Ebooks made me start reading way more books

I got Libby a few months ago, and I've been reading so much since then. Whenever I'm at the park, or waiting in line for something I can just whip out my phone and read!! Carrying around physical copies can be impractical, so before I was pretty much limited to reading at home. I know not everyone is a fan of ebooks, and to be fair I wasnt either for a long time but they've really made reading so much more accessible for me!! Anyone else had the same happen?

More Amazon ebook removals, it's a big dog this time: Amazon has removed the Kindle versions of Sword Art Online Volumes 1, 2, and 3

This is a much bigger target than the previous reports. I just confirmed it for myself on Reki Kawahara's Amazon page and sorting by Kindle versions only. Only Volumes 4 and up are available.

My first manga haul. I’ve been reading manga for the last 9 years now, and all my books were either ebooks or library books. This subreddit pushed me to finally buy some physical copies to feed my addiction lmao. My goal is to get at least 1 manga from every anime/manga I’ve watched/read.

...and don't upvote this so more students can see this, I have campus police on speed dial
